Hi just bought a working Dc27 from car boot .found the brush bar to be snapped at one end .I bought another and fitted it and tested to be OK and working great .
I've now sold the dyson but now the lady says the brush bar is making a right noise again when carpet mode is on .
As long as the new brush bar hasn't snapped again what could this be or to check for .cheers

I'd be looking at the clutch, it might be ratcheting. Check the white wheel isnt melted.

I found this to be an issue with my DC14 a week ago. The bearings were originals (from 2009) and one of them was barely spinning. I used some bearing cleaner and some grease and cleaned them up good but the one was still a bit sluggish. For about 15 minutes after the cleaning the vacuum was MUCH quieter... then I suppose the grease made its way to the edges of the bearings and the noise came back.
Oh well - bought some new bearings off Amazon and will swap them this weekend.

I had that happen on a dc14 while I was using it, it started making a strange noise and within 2 seconds the brush bar seized solid
