Just noticed the little tiny motor- Wow... what does that do? I'm surprised that tiny 1 inch motor is used in this beast

WOO YEH!!! American Beko style! This is awesome! I enjoyed reading this, thanks for posting!

PS that may possibly be a date on that clear part, 21st of June 2011?

I'm surprised the brushroll was removable- thought it was permanently means to stay there as a complete unit, looks like Dyson doesn't do that

Is the main motor a DC07 motor with a special spindle?

yes it basically is an 07 motor.

dyson will only sell you a complete cleaner head assembly, it is not meant to be disassembled like i did.

there are two small motors, one to engage the clutch and the other to raise and lower the brushbar.

Glad you were able to get it all back together!  :))

But remind me never to strip one of these, a dc25 is about as far as I'll go!

Found the cause of roller not turning, stuck carrier bearing on roller. Now how to fix it?
Wasn't the clutch stuck.

Glad its fixed! You have to pry the clear housing from the pivots, it can be tricky. Then dismantlet the clutch, remove the lower belt gaurd so you can pry the brush bar out.

Re assembly will be posted tomorrow

Bloody hell that looks ultra complicated! Well done though, another 5 or 6 and you'll be able to do it blindfolded and without a screwcard!

So its ten at night, time to do the rebuild after breaking a window  :censored: and getting a dc14 ready for its owner (same lady as the broken window  :'( )

so.

FIRST off we clip the belt chute back in, I did not remove the furniture bumper as I did not have enough skin left on my fingertips (didn't want to break it, Mr Dyson only sells it as complete front end $$$$ ).

Then the AirMuscle valve,

Re belt the brushbar,

and snap 'er back in the PC housing,

Slip on the AirMuscle suction tube, the one that leads to the actuator itself, secure it with a small cable tie.

Re fit camshaft motor, loom and CB then screw down the cover,

Drop in the camshaft next,

The function of said shaft is to raise and lower the brushbar to clean posh deep pile carpets,

As the bar rotates it pushes down the tail on the brushbar end cap pivoting it out further, extending the brushes,

two other functions also happen, the cams operate microswitches to signal what position the brushbar is in, and one other cam to actuate the AirMuscle bleed off valve.

Now we screw its cover down,

Now we re assemble the clutch through the brush bar belt,

Next go in are the pre tension rollers,

and springs,

the next step is fiddly as you have to clip the loom into the cleaner head, snap in the PC housing and locate the clutch-a-ma-thingy.

Re assemble AirMuscle and snap it onto the clutch cover,

Now you have a complete cleaner head assembly, this is how Dyson sell it.

Rubber up the engine? (motor, why do people call it an engine?)

wire 'er up and drop into the bouquet, snap the lid on and place it aside,

Valve gear next,

Upright switch and loom is dressed next,

screw it onto the sweeper along with the valve gear,

Wire up the motor bucket and feed the looms/spinal cord through,

Juggle the motor bucked onto the duct, reconnect the looms,

Drop in the CB carrier, wire up the CB, all connections are different so don't worry, now spend the next 45 minutes trying to figure out how all the looms and ribbon cables were routed around all the tits and tats.  :censored:

Once you unlock the mystery, place the one motor bucket holder screw in place,

Port plate on,

Breathe a sigh of relief as you tighten up the lower motor casing,

Tuck in the spinal cords,
