Hi all, i have a dc40 with a dead brush roll, i have checked all the wiring for continuity which is fine but when i check for power output i get a quick flash of voltage with various readings so i think the pcb is faulty. my question is will a non erp pcb fit a erp model. Thanks.

No it won't - they differ as we have found out when we tried to do this.
You may struggle finding one, I think we have some on backorder and Dyson move about as fast as continental drift with backorders.

If it's an ERP it should surely be under guarantee? They only came out in September 2014

Cool :)
Just out of curiosity, what vac did you sell them? I noticed a lot of people are downgrading recently, like when I sold a DC25 and got a DC41 in for a part ex

A DC41 to a DC25 I would regard as an upgrade.
We have already took a DC75 in part exchange for a Sebo. I reluctantly went to £40 on it only for the motor.

I see what you mean, a DC25 would be more reliable
Seems to me people are replacing newer vacuums with slightly older models
There's a mosque I went to, they had a DC27 All floors about 3 years ago, not been there at all till a few months ago and now they have a red DC25 with a grey ball, I'm not sure if that's an upgrade or a downgrade

The dc50 i got was given as a freebie when i bought a job lot off ebay, went to pick them up and he said i found this at the back of his living room with the head pulled to bits. The switch housing had been took off and had been put together wrong so nothing worked, you needed two hands to pull the handle up and the pcb looked like a burnt piece of toast.
I think the meaning of ERP is energy related product which is something the eu came up with, i might be wrong if someone wants to correct me.

ERP is the one with the red slider on the front. Different brushrolls and PCBs just to confuse you when identifying parts......

You could always just replace the faulty components on the PCB.

Haha @Madrat me and soldering don't mix, i have parkinson's disease so soldering is a very frustrating job at the best of times, don't get me wrong if i can do it i will, it might just take a few attempts.

I know what you mean about soldering
some good old fashioned lead based solder makes things much easier.
