DC04 Silver Lime
« on: January 30, 2017, 09:06:20 pm »
I've had Ametex motors go bang.

Indeed, why DC04 Ametek to YDK adaptor kits exist.
Isn't the kit just the YDK rubbers and retaining ring?

Indeed. Discontinued by Dyson but available again soon.  ;D

Ever considered making DC04s when the patents all expire? ;D I'm not sure it may still be a bright idea due to them being slightly heavy now there's loads of lightweight vacs around etc for example but just a suggestion ;)

I want it. That DC04 will be mine. When I get £240/£260 (depends if I'm in Lancashire at the time or not) I'll get it

You mean >>this one<<.

No, I put it up @ £240 but nobody bit. So I decided to keep it for our museum. The longer it sits there the rarer it gets - like money in the bank........

Me too - I have the numberplate.  ;)

When the DC04 was new, and the Dyson brand was in its infancy in Europe, we grey imported a 40' trailer full of them from the continent with 2 pin plugs. We swapped out the plugs and they all sold very quickly. We still get the odd one of those in for service today; my Dad still has his.

The new DC04 parts we had in abundance two years ago are long gone.

Why, last week, I decided to >>mint up a red DC07<< to hang onto while the bits are still about. In two years some of this stuff will be gone.

Some type of panasonic. They seem to be reliable as i hardly hear of burnt out ones here.

Wish we had reliable motors! That died off since the DC04s with YDK motors came along
I think the YDK motors are unreliable VS the Ametek motors, thats why I dropped my nans old Ametek motor in my absolute

I never saw a YDK motor do >>this<<.
