two Sebo x4 problems
« on: February 09, 2017, 01:40:28 pm »
hi,

i have two sebo x4 vacs that i seem to have a problem with. The first one was the handle kept pulling out so i replaced the handle catch, the handle is still pulling out so i thought maybe the handle had worn too but when i try it in the other x4 the handle locks in fine so i'm not sure which way to go with it so if any ideas that would be great?

Second sebo x4 has a problem with the automatic head adjustment not going up and down and also when upright constantly flashing the stationary warning light even if i pick the vac up. I have tried changing the servo motor, pcb and brushroll but still showing same fault. Could it possibly be the brushroll sensor that has gone?

any help would be much appreciated

We had one recently that did as you said, and eventually we found that in the area near the PCB on the side, there is a little circular magnet that is needed to work the height sensor that had come out. We removed the side PCB and it was stuck under it. Found where it had come from, glued it back in and presto.

Brushroll sensor is possible but unlikely; based on the fact we change so few.

The handle is harder to say without seeing it. I have seen the odd older one with a carefully placed self tapping screw, pre-drilled and screwed in. Probably for the same reason. But one must be cautious if doing that as the wires run through it as you know.

Anyone who has any other ideas, please do chime in.

i have checked the magnet also and that is still held in place so i am really at a loss at what this could be? if not the sensor could it be the relay on the side pcb that the magnet goes past?

Regarding the first Sebo - It could be the handle catch that has worn, or the inside of the dust bag housing has cracked where the catch locks in. I can get the handle catch no problem but the housing is special order and expensive. Have a look and let me know.

Regarding the second Sebo, leave that with me and I will get back to you.
