But the DC27/33 are a bit crap for a Dyson :/
Well ive tried my DC33 (funny as when I read and replyed about them on this thread and I was thinking I should get one: one popped up on eBay near me - I got it...)
And I must say its a lovely little machine - very similar to the dc07

Yeah they're fine, and nice machines, they are good but for a rough consumer, no. A DC14 and DC07 (late) can handle rough use and can be bashed around and are often in one piece. They are the machines that last for a good few years without any major parts needing replaced. Maybe the odd belt change but that's it really. Even people go through the same belt after a few years anyway.

Next door's DC33 brush slows down VERY much and it's only 5 years old. Well it did, I had to change one of the belts the (motor to clutch one)

I prefer non-clutched machines since our entire house except dining room is carpets so i non-clutch converted the DC33 sinec dyson never made a non-clutch model, could do with a non-clutch dc14 to swap the heads around so the dc14 origin becomes clutch converted and the dc33 non-clutch converted but in the correct colours.
