We mainly use satellite, even in the caravan, much more reliable that an aerial. Also FM is still much better than DAB digital radio.

I've only known a handful of people here who use satellite.  No idea why it's not bigger.  Well, in our case anyway, it's not allowed by our HOA.

Digital tv is JUNK

Wish the analog system was still used, id take static and a snowy picture any day over load screens and dropping out completely, all you have to do is sneeze and the digital tv goes on the fritz.  :censored:

now we just use netflix on the flatscreen or cable with an rf modulator for the vintage tellies.

I am currently still a tv engineer, working for a panasonic retailer. Sadly today with many brands the contents of the tin are not what the label says on the tin !
Who on earth makes them crappy Zannussi vacs, seen them in wilko's etc for 50 to 75 quid.
They arrive at the shop well within the 12 months warranty, jammed beater bars, melted caps with the bearings, i usually just write them off with a shake of the head  ;)

even had a busy pub in york city brought me one  :'( - absolutely ragged to death it was, told them to buy a sebo or henry.

Im no tv engineer but i have delved into a few tube sets, and yes, "badge engineering" is well and alive.
