What is Your most lamented appliance brand?
« on: February 11, 2017, 05:51:12 am »
Mine is Samsung,
Cause everything I have onwed from them has smoked, gone on strike or within two inches of me putting a fire axe through it...

Could we turn this into a poll?
Sorry for the off vacuum topic.

I won't buy anything Samsung for similar reasons.

I also dislike Vax and modern Hoovers due to tragic build quality and poor design.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 which if fine, Except I accidentally put a key throught the screen, thus cracked it,
And My grandad had a Galaxy S$ Mini for 2 years which i'm gonna take over soon when his contract expires with Virgin Mobile.

The brand I hate is: Proscan, My TV i have with them is excellent, however finding a code for ANY remote is impossible, Impossible  to find anything on the web for it, and to make matters worse, if somethings playing up on it I cant even find anything on GOOGLE

Slightly off topic: but regarding Samsung products

I read that a flight had to emergency land because somebody's iPhone hotspot name was "Galaxy note 7" or something similar :o That's how bad Samsung has gotten

Exploding batteries, fire hazards, their chargers etc!

I use a Samsung galaxy s5 for months with boborobalems, ival and use a raspberry pi power lead as they are 2.5 amp so they are fast charge

Comparing Dyson to Apple made me laugh so much I lost blood in my ears, mainly because you're always defending Dyson.

Apple = Over priced, parts are stupidly over priced and their phones are, although they work well very weak.
Dyson = Over priced, Parts are stupidly over priced and although they work, they're quality is very poor.

I'm glad you've finally come to understand.

As for the OP's question; I'm usually very open minded and tend to stay away from brand names that look excessively gay matched with the appearance of the product. Such as Hotpoint and their daft designs.

The fact of the matter is, and many people fail to remember is that brands or companies these days have all started to make random products that are out of their box. For example Samsung make some great gear but they can't make phones at all.
Google is good at making stuff work well on the internet (With the exception of Google+) but their car is highly stupid and should be burned.

So when I buy a product, no matter what it is the name, build quality and functions are what I look for.

The best washer we ever had was a Fisher & Pykel direct drive which ran for 15 years with no problems except a rat which ate through a wire, fixed that. But mum decided do replace it with a horrible samsung machine which has been recalled twice for fire and flood related issues, didnt even last 6 months before the top yellowed worse than a DC01.  :(

Yeah I learned that a while ago. I also learned to not buy Grey dysons, as on all the other colours the fading doesnt show as much

Our stuff is all still bright white, but our kitchen faces North so never gets sun on it.

For example Samsung make some great gear but they can't make phones at all.

Add the Satellite (freesat) set top TV boxes to that. Total shite that has chronic software that is never brought up to spec. Updates dont load and user forums are full of howling people complaining it doesn't do what it says on the box.

I know this; I bought one.  >:(

Then I bought a Humax and all was well with the world.  :-*

That was the experience where I said I would never buy a Samsung product again. I wasted £200+ of my money and I won't get bitten twice. Since then, everyone I know is complaining about Samsung phones with no signal.

Why I despise Hoover so much, aside from the tragic quality, is I was caught in the Hoover flights to Florida scam they perpetrated.

I dislike Vax because of tragic quality alongside many unavailable parts.

Apple phones, Sebo vacuums, Rolex watches (had mine 20+ years), Bosch washers, Miele/Neff/Gaggenau everything else in appliances, WMF coffee machines. They work.  :icon_nod:
