Different Dyson V6 Cordless Vacuum Tool Attachments
« on: February 14, 2017, 04:17:57 pm »
There seems to be confusion around V6 attachments, wands and heads. Many people don't know what fits what and when you ring Dyson most of their employees think they're all interchangeable. Hopefully, I'll try and clear up some confusion....

There are 3 types of V6 attachments.

1. Total Clean

2. Absolute

3. All others including standard, Flexi, Fluffy & Animal

The standard V6 (silver wand), Flexi, Fluffy & Animal models are all interchangeable; the bins, wands and all attachments can be swapped on these models. The Total Clean and Absolute models have to be used with their own attachments and are not interchangeable with any other machines.

By the way, when I talk about attachments I mean the motorised attachments - all of the non-motorised tools are interchangeable with all of the V6 range.

Hope this helps.

This is always a source of confusion to many people. Us included when matching parts to machines - it's a nightmare to do it remotely, and that is one reason we sell very few of these online. When people call up we always tell them to bring the machine so we can match the head. Dyson also have given us incorrect and conflicting information in the past as to what fits what.

Looking at those photos, I looked at the DC35 we have at home, and it differs again....

Great topic. We are overdue some clarification on this confusing subject.

Yes, the DC35 and the DC44 are different fitments too and can't be interchanged.

Hello People.
I have a question regarding other models of the V6.
I have an V6 animal but I have a spare purple wand and head attachments.
Now I could really do with another V6.
If I purchase a V6 Trigger, Car and Boat or Mattress, will I be able to use my purple wand and head attachments with these? As these models do not seem to be specified above.
Many thanks and sparkly clean cyclones in advance.

hello and thank you for the post!
I have been purchasing various Dyson models from this one private auction reseller sells  Frankensteined Dyson models. To her credit, I think she does the best she can given her supplier just dumps a bunch of parts into her lot for her to dish out evenly. Anyway all that being said...

FIRST question:  So the first time I got what was listed as an animal something with "canister" in the title (which I believe is actually the proper name of a certain model but regardless it came equipped with a yellow -(cy)23 motor ).. this build came with what looks to be a proper wand with a trigger attachment.. does this seem right? I can't tell because it did not come with the drive head so it also doesn't mount the wand either which is kind of annoying. Anyway I was looking at purchasing the "trigger" motor head attachment to get this ball model all together but I was just wanting to make sure that the trigger is legit.

SECOND more relevant to this post question: Last time I picked up what was listed as 3 separate v15s  though the wands all say v11 animal + on them. This is confusing to me even with the research I've done as many times they are listed as vll animal vc15  or something similar, all I know is 2 of the batteries say v15 and one says v14 as they are obviously compatible. Now, these all came with high torque heads and by looking at the photos you posted it looks like these all qualify as absolute's?  and last question which is why i came here in the first place, 2 of the 3 high torque heads do not work, I've completely dismantled one of them just to get to the one place that i cannot seem to figure out which is the actual point of contact where the wires attach to the prongs, I guess I could test the current but since I'm cleaning them anyway i'd just like to know if its even possible.

Absolute?  https://linksharing.samsungcloud.com/bt6dVFXSlEz2

Also though It looks like you are UK based does anyone happen to know of a good distributor or reseller to purchase these motor drives ? thank!
