Are Dysons Flimsy?
« on: February 21, 2017, 08:19:32 pm »
Mention dyson in any vac shop here in texas and you get met with a shotgun barrel! :snivel:
They are all meile fanatics here and always have 20+ dusty kirbies sitting in the shop. I do all my parts ordering on ebay now.

That's because you lot don't fanny about with flimsy stuff, right on!

My De Stijl isn't flimsy... And thats a Dyson,
Its even got a perfect chassis on it.
The chassis was replaced and I bought one of a purple and magenta machine, Not faded, or cracked, or broke, still factory fresh and its dated 1998 acording to the plate on the bottom

Slam a DC41 down the stairs. Will it break? Nope. Boob.

Took me many, many, many attempts to smash a half cracked DC04 chassis into two pieces, was smashing extremely hard against concrete slabs. and it still didn't break, However throwing it accross the room cracked the fan pipe?

Ever taken a hammer to a kirby?
The metal is as brittle than a DC01. And no i didnt just destroy it, head unit was already cracked near in two.

Of course it will. You need only look at a DC41 for something to break. In fact, they are so tragic I am not convinced that one wouldn't break on its own if it were left unattended in a corner.

;D Haha just just kidding, but I'd be more worried about a DC04/07 falling down the stairs than a DC25/similar tho

I'd be worried if I dropped my G6 down the stairs, the metal is metal yes, doesn't seem to be that durable, I agree

If I dropped it down the stairs I'd worry about the wheels and any dents. Also the lock for the cleaner head is horrible along with the safety switch especially on the Legend and Heritage 2s.

I love Kirby, I think they're good machines but they aren't really that great tbh (except performance wise)  :underchair:

Most fragile bit on any dyson is top of chassis where the wand attaches, apart from 41 that's just  :'(

dc07/08, cyclone handle.

dc07/08, cyclone handle.

Yes we had a DC07 animal that the handle broke away on,
Then we threw that out and kept on using our old DC04 Silver/Lime,
Until one day dad saw a dc07 origin for 20poundings literally up the road from us, and all we had to do was pop the soleplate on properly,
Then dad bought a dc07 animal,
I had the 07 origin
then the 07 orgiin motor died
So i bought a DC04 Absolute
then the dc07 animal motor died, so I replaced it, never worked the same since though,
So dad bought a DC14 animal, The fully silver and dark steel. animal
and I now got a DC04 De Stijl.

On my Absolute which I replaced the chassis for a purple one, then gave the machine to my nan, the chassis broke where the wand catch is like you said

Slam you down the stairs, would you break?

If somebody took a hammer to you, would you be brittle?

I'm very glad to see somebody isn't completely shot to bits.

You need to make your mind up.
