Need a Dyson DC04 Silver Lime Ametek Motor? We Have The Answer!

(1/1)

MVacs:
If you have a silver lime Dyson DC04 that looks like this:

It was originally fitted with this type of motor made by Ametek:

However, that motor is no longer available and is obsolete everywhere.

Most other Dyson DC04 vacuum cleaners were fitted with what is called a YDK motor. Both types pictured below:

Despite first appearances, the two motors are not directly interchangeable without changing the two motor rubbers and the retaining ring. However, those parts are also obsolete from Dyson.

However, they are not obsolete from us.

This adaptor kit when used with a YDK type motor allows you to replace the motor on your silver lime DC04.

We have sold these adaptor kits for a while, but supply was always patchy as it meant a DC04 machine being scrapped for each one sold. Now we have them in stock new, and you can buy one >>here<<.

Brilliant news

I've kept the YDK retaining ring, and rubbers from my YDK when it seized. Because I dropped my spare Ametek in my De Stijl. Actually like the noise from Ameteks. Especially during first start up.

So that means I've created myself a YDK conversion kit from my old motor?
