Not at all TBH the way they are meant to be is the way DC07 fins are, like OCD straight. I believe the fins are just there to stop excessive dirt spinning which scratches the bin, cos Dysons just got more and more powerful as they evolved form the DC01/03 with no fins.
Some will only fit in one way due to a pip in the bin and a cut-out on the fins.
They make NO difference at all mateFins don't affect the airflow at all, cos the suction from the shroud goes straight to the ductingAnd yeah DC01 ones do fit
