thank you i change the motor to check it was not that,i put it back in the motor housing and the retainer is a brand new one no broken tabs, this is why i am scratching my head as i can put my hand on the retainer and suction is strong,it is when i put the pre motor filter cover on with or without a filter the suction goes i have tried putting black tap around the edges to seal but the suction is still low before it goes into the cyclone i will keep going at it hopefully i will solve it i will keep you posted thank you for the advise
So you have the motor housing and the motor with it's seals. Let's start off with the motor: Are the both on the motor nicely? The large bottom seal for the motor has to sit around the top rim of the base of the motor. The rubber lip covers the rim of the motor fan area.Lubricate the perimeter of the base of the seal so it goes in nicely. The motor should sit in properly. You can tell it ahs when you put the grey motor retainer on nicely with no force. It should just snap back into place. This motor retainer has a seal as well on one side. If not, there will be a loss of suction.Put the motor housing cover front trim on and then on the vacuum and it should fit nicelyand flush everywhere with no gaps. Screw it up with the 4 screws holding itPlace the pre motor filter in and test. Is ths suction good?Edit: I'm also assuming your motor is perfectly fine with no damage etc, no funny noises or anything and with no dents in the fan area and the fan spins when you turn the spindle. Yes?
