DC14 Broken Part

I am new and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a dc14 repair question. The red tab (that secures the cyclone canister to the frame and push to disconnect the canister from the frame) is broken, along with a part of the gray plastic frame that holds the tab in place. Is there any way I can repair this? I found a replacement for the red tab, but I don't know how I would go about repairing the broken part on the frame. I have included a photo to try to show, since I am not good at describing it.

Personally, I'd fill that with epoxy and drill out the clip hole (dremel with a 90 degree bend attachment). It'll be ugly, but strong. Be sure to sand the area really good first to get a decent bond.

Thanks for responding so quickly George! I suspect that is my only option. I wouldn't have thought of that without your suggestion. Thanks again, much appreciated.

I'd go for some kind of home made repair, although whole chassis are very cheap, but you'll have to follow one of my rebuild threads to change it!

The only issue you might have with a high quality bodge is it breaking as you refit the latch. That's usually where mine go wrong...
