Trying To Find The Right Replacement Motor for DC23
« on: May 31, 2017, 05:46:12 am »
Ready to buy a motor but I can't find the right one on your website.  :'(

My Dyson was purchased in Australia 6 years ago.  It is a DC23, details as follows:
CU1-AU-CCA0974A (this is on the sticker on the cleaner itself).

I removed the fan from the motor and the details printed on the motor (fan removed) are:
YDK  YV-16K24B
1A14  ~240V

NB I have checked the steel spindle (shaft) on the old motor and it definitely has two flat sides!

Now, your replacement motor on your website for the DC23 (without the fan as I will re-use my current fan) is:

"DC23 Motor MTR301  (39.99 British Pounds)".  However, it says very clearly that this motor has a steel spindle (shaft) with one flat side!

What motor do I need then?  I presume I need a motor with two flat sides on the spindle just like the original motor I have now removed and need to  replace?

Thanks for any assistance.

I've only ever seen one type and never had one back. Can you post a photo of the shaft and give the numbers from the current motor?
