dc07 mod ?
« on: June 06, 2017, 07:50:10 pm »
 :grinn:

repaired many dc07's over the years but this is the second one with this foil mod....  :'(
why someone wraps sticky foil around a spaded and insulated neutral is beyond me. !

Had one may 10th 2014, and one today.

It's always mystified us as well. But we have seen so many like that they must have been done in the factory.

really... i did wonder as i never found any marks or evidence of anyone else touching these machines as they were sold from our shop new. if it had been back for repair in the past then the machine would flag up on the system.

very strange, maybe it's there to prevent the neutral spades disconnecting ? but using ali tape....

Ive found three so far like this - they always have foil wrapped around the existing rubber and plastic neutral protectors and the live covers missing - of couse a problem would be if the neutral was to move whilst putting back together than it could be a short across the switch thus the switch not working - the machine be costant on

I've noticed that on the DC07s I've worked.

Yep, I've seen dozens if not 100's with that foil on, always baffled me too.
