Over-voting a Dyson Digital Motor
« on: December 01, 2021, 11:13:27 pm »
Evening  :tiphat:

Random question - the V11 sucks a mighty 29.9v on boost (25v on normal and 18v on eco according to a spec sheet I found)

I'm assuming (yet to try but it's on the way) that connecting a hard and raw 20v to the + and - on the motor pcb will make it run?

My next question would be, if one was to connect, say 40v to a V11 motor... Would it run fast but run or would it explode?

A related thought is if I hooked a 40v battery up to a v11 with the circuitry in-tact still would it limit the voltage down at all? Or do the motor pcb's do that?

Has anyone ever messed about with them in this way or am I about to burn my house down having a go? 😂

You'd think so.

I'd expect one, then the other.

I would expect it to blow the PCB.

I am kinda wondering why you might want to do this?
