Dyson OP22
« on: September 05, 2017, 07:35:06 pm »
Had dyson field tech in my workshop repairing a dc41 (warranty) job.

Nice guy, known him a few years, asked about a few things but nothing really interesting from me...
however he did mention a new vac from dyson, OP22 i think he said, an upright.

big stronger motor in the head, with soft start electronics to hopefully extend it's life. Head unit he said is available for around £60 ?

Main vac underbody has no complicated gearing etc - also he said it was magnetic ? i couldn't really make head nor tail about what he meant.

I wonder what OP stands for?

I hope the new one has an aggressive brushbar as the DC41 mk2 or similar, the new Dyson light ball has a DC50 type of brushroll :/

My DC41 Mk2 has a soft start motor, exactly like a DC15 so maybe that's a new thing. Mine is the slightly newer DC41 mk2 with the purple cyclone btw, maybe soft start brush motors will be a new feature

Op no idea ? old peculiar maybe  ;D

Did say it was a meaty head and it sunk into the carpet. I asked if they had a training seminar on it ? replied "no - not yet - and will probably be on the job teach yourself"

Funny you mention DC15 Parwaz - tech reckons they're ace but a right bugger to repair the undercarriage. I have only had one in - and that had a stainless steel expensive pen trapped right at the bottom of the pipe - like a spear it was and did quite a bit of damage.
