DC02/DC05 Wand Handle Compatability?

I've ordered a replacement DC02 Wand Handle (the banana) on the basis of what a customer told me on the phone. Having now got sight of the machine, it turns out to be a DC05...grr.
Can anyone tell me if the two are compatible (they look similar in pics online, but they're listed separately for each model)? Thanks.
Serves me right for ordering parts before actually seeing the machine.

They are not directly interchangeable as the DC05 has a clip on the banana that clips in the keeper on the tube and the DC02 does not.
That said, the DC02 one will slide in the pole on a DC05, but may not be a tight enough fit to be usable.
