Every time I've had to get into the motor of a DC50, this happens. This particular customer picked this one up already, took it home, tried to bend it forward all the way and cracked the motor bucket assembly. I replaced it and it once again, leans backward. Anybody have a fix to this? Please?

note: I've aligned the teeth on the inside of the yoke with the lowest finger going into the lowest slot of the female gear.

Does the upper ball cover (front) sit home against the suction duct at the top of the ball?

Thank you for responding Parwaz.

No, the cover wasn't going up all the way. There was also a problem with the wire running down the left side that has the rubber grommet attached to it, I hadn't inserted it into the right place. Also, the cover wasn't all the way in it's groove. They're a little trickier then the DC41! Issues been resolved.

Next time I take one apart show the offending parts here.

Aah nice one!:thumbsup: Glad you got it sorted.

I once had a DC40 where I soldered the wiring loom, got it back together and it was all good, except the stabiliser wouldn't lock unless pushed down by foot. Had to replace it with a completely new wiring loom and the stabiliser sorted itself out. When assembling a stripped one, everything's gotta be precisely right with these new Dysons around the ball area, as they're quite complex.
