Dyson v8
« on: December 20, 2017, 10:19:28 pm »
Only had my v8 for a few weeks. The motorhead has become hard to push suddenly. I looked at it and part of the rubber bar at the back had flicked out over the red tabs holding it in. I tucked it back in but I don't think it is right.

See video:

I think it should easily pivot into the body all the way across the bar? It  hardly moves in the middle though.

Any advice please?

Thanks Madrat, good advice, I'm certainly considering sending back to Dyson. I'm really checking 2 things before though.

1. Is the rubber strip meant to be like that?
2. Is there an easy fix, or has someone else experience with a similar problem? Maybe I have missed something simple that would make it silly to go through packing up the whole thing and sending it back to Dyson and all the hassle that comes with.

This is how mine looks, and that purple bar is supposed to flex in and out nice and easy.

Update. Contacted Dyson who just sent a new head straight out to me. Then I fixed the old (with new found confidence that it didn't matter if I broke it), levered the whole purple rubber bit out so it was completely free and then  seated it back properly as it clearly wasn't before. Now I have 2 :)

It's always easier to give it a go when you know it doesn't matter if it snaps! Nice one

help! the rubber purple bit of my Dyson V 8 - out of warranty- has popped out and the black bits that hold it in place won't go back into the red teeth bits ( sorry for lack of correct jargon).  I am out of warranty and it won't push about properly  any advice on how to get it back in would be really appreciated.
