How to fit a Paddle WMFG 611 Washing Machine
« on: February 03, 2018, 04:16:38 pm »
Hi

I’ve just bought some replacement paddles for my
Washing Machine of eBay got 3x for a fiver as Hotpoint
wanted £15 for one as one has come of in a wash I thought
I had Dom and Gen insurance on it But was shocked when they
told me it was cancelled they have no idea why as either
do I but I’ve saved £165 anywayMy machine has never had
a fault or needed a repair it’s well over
5 years old now!

Makes me wonder do we need extended warranty anyway?

I never fitted a paddle before was wondering if anyone could
Give me any instructions on how to do this I’ve asked the seller
If he could provide me with any but incase he doesn’t I’d
appreciate Anyone here helping me out

Thankyou

There are a few different types, last one i did the bloke wrecked his by putting his work boots in the washer !

i poured nearly boiling water over mine, then using both hands squeeze the widest part of the paddle inwards and the lugs should pull out of the stainless steel drum at it's compressed.

If you look at the new paddle you will see the lugs, warm the new paddle before fitting.
If in doubt hit it with a mallet, but the problem there is the plastic lugs can break off and work their way into the pump impella (easily removable ) and won't sound good.
The only way to fail is not to try.

ah yes seen that one before, but slightly different to the last one i did, yours i think you have to gets the lugs aligned then as you slide the paddle towards the back you also have to push the paddle down in the middle to clear the raised barb.

i would advise to heat the paddle first as they can break when fitting.

Door seals, i have done hundreds of them too, the easiest being the latest panasonics.
