Using brush roller on laminated floors

I was wondering if it’s ok to use the brush roller activated on laminate flooring. I said to my beloved she can do what she wants as I can’t see it doing any damage and our little old cottage is full of knocks and scrapes in any case.

Never turn ours off, but some floors are very easy to scratch.

We use the brush on ours. Laminates are tough.

Thanks I thought it would be ok my wife is not that impressed with the hand me down Dyson. We have two wood burning stoves and I really never noticed this until she pointed it out in that the exhaust from the ball blows the dust about before the front brush roller assembly can pick it up. But for me it’s fine and dandy I suppose I use the hose attachment for dust and wood debris which she can’t use as it’s not at all flexible.

I think 90% of vacuums do this, we have the same problem with our open fire.
Ash and soot can be very abrasive and will kill a vacuum very fast.

Yes I think your right, hopefully with three well off daughters we will be in line for more hand me down appliances. Seriously I quite like the Dyson I chain saw my own logs ( thanks to farmer daughter’s woods) so I find the Dyson great for wood chips on the carpet. Life can be so simple when you let it.

Can you send me some? I'm getting low, not sure if I'll make it till Spring.
And yes, fire ash kills Dysons! Don't be tempted to suck out the grate during a lazy moment.

Never do this with a proper Hoover, they have metal beater bars! Just brushes will be fine, however the brushroll will flick dirt behind the machine (scatter it) which may or may not annoy you depending how filthy things are!

Beko thanks for the advice I’m a pretty laid back guy with my beloved surviving serious cancer I’ll take everything in my stride. The house was my parents / grandparents cottage stone inside wall thats rains down sand particles in the winter like now stove going full blast so a bit of dust is just part of life here.
