Charlie had a go

And it was around this time I realised the brushroll switch was not right, so, apart the base came again...

This was also when I realised what a bastard setting up the rear wheel cogs can be, for some reason they did not set up right, and it took a lot of trying to get them right...

But we got there!

We have an after video, of course!

And, because I've never ever used one of these before, I used it for a whole month, where it did very well indeed, if not a bit massively too large for our 2 bed house!

Fin!

I spotted the "Written by Iggle Piggle" at the end of the vid.  ;D

These are super machines, and I have collected two or three of them in recent weeks and I planned to make a good one out of them similarly. But having seen how they come apart, I must admit I am not terribly keen on the idea of stripping it down.  :snivel:

Yea he's a good bloke that Iggle Piggle!

Their an odd machine. Very well built, top quality, but such a pain to strip down unless your really familiar with them (I'm sure Gareth Sheen will be along in a minute, he helped me with this when I was doing it!). Plus the parts prices new from miele are eye watering!

If I'm ever offered one again I'll be rude and look it over first unless it's mega cheap, too much potential to loose money

I loved mine! I had the ugly yellow one tho which I wasn’t keen on
It’s like a domestic Sebo! More fancier too, I don’t know why but I just love it
The brushroll had soft ish bristles but it still cleaned nicely

I couldn’t figure out how to take
Mine apart beyond the brush motor

I'd never had one till about six months ago.

I bought a black one a while back from a house clearance bloke. It only needed a service and a general fettle and polish. When it was done I tried it out in the shop and loved it. What a well-built, powerful and capable machine. I even toyed with the idea of taking it home but as we had a new Sebo X4 Pet at home then there seemed little point.

I advertised it online at what I thought was strong money and a bloke was in like a bat out of hell for it the following day in person. He ran out chuckling, clutching it like a man possessed. I made a mental note to keep my eye out for those in the future and I have several "as is" ones we haven't looked at yet. Although, with the price of spares, and the complexity of repair as Sam has showed us, they may be worth more in bits.

Even with the brushroll half worn, it cleans really well! My dad's had one of these from New, its about 5 years old and pretty clean. The brushroll is twice as long as this, and there's not much in it. The self adjustment must keep the roller going until it goes bald!
