'Red-Button' new QR tools availability
« on: February 26, 2018, 11:23:12 pm »
Greetings all,
As I've mentioned in other threads, I'm now the owner of a CY23 Big Ball, with the new tool attachment system. Here in the US, we have 4 canister models currently offered; the CY22 Cinetic Animal with the whole shebang of accessories, the CY23 Multifloor with a turbo tool, the same but with the Musclehead, and the old DC39. I went with the Multifloor since 1- I have mostly carpet and 2-I got it on a very great sale and 3- I don't trust the Cinetic models. However, as I have a small furry animal living in my home, the Animal accessories and others are sorely needed.
Problem is, I don't see anywhere selling the accessories with the new attachment system yet. Clearly they make them, to include with the Animal model, and I see plenty of review pages from you Aussies and Brits using them.

I've since bought the new dusting brush (which is very swank looking, but not quite as versatile as the old long-bristled version), which had the old attachment system, and I'm finding it's a pain to find the tool, find the adapter that came with the machine, and switch it out every time I need to use it.

Are there any overseas sources for these new tools?

Welcome to the site.  :tiphat:

On the Light/Big Ball/CY22/23 tool fitting, the tools are still quite expensive and its too soon for much to be available after-market. People tend to use the older tools with >>this adaptor set<< to get around compatability issues.

It should be noted as well that although those tools look the same as the V7/V8 fitting, they are not. >>This article<< explains that in more detail.

Thanks for the welcome!
Yeah, that's really a shame. It doesn't even seem Dyson themselves sell them, either here or on their UK/CAN/AUS websites.

I've got the adapter included in the box, and it's doing fine with the dusting brush (the new carbon fibre one is a bit of a disappointment compared to the old one, but I'll manage); I was just looking into getting a few more accessories--namely, the reach under tool, and possibly the parquet brush, and wanted one with the new connector native. I know I've seen that they exist, just nobody sells them separate!
Good to know about the new handheld tools; that would have ended with extreme frustration.
And visual proof!

All those native tools are available here, they are just not stock items yet. And not cheap yet!
