Do you mean DC24 or DC25? The topic title says one; the content says another.

I fixed the title for you.

We haven't a DC24 in at the moment having a motor, so I can't grab any pictures. But I will ask our tech his thoughts on this motor swap. He has done dozens of them and I will bug him to post this thoughts on Monday.

I can say that most of the motor swaps on DC24's we have seen have been because the bottom fan breaks up on them and causes them to screech or jam. In our opinion, this is a design fault on DC24's. We have seen too many of them with broken up motor fans for it to be a coincidence.

Add that to the propensity of the brush bar motors to burn out, and we are not looking at one of Dyson's finest products.

In my opinion, the DC24 will join the DC18 in the list of ones that were not exactly right.

Interesting you should mention the fan exploding .

I don't think its the motor but again the user.

I have had a dc25 a dc18 and two dc24's in with blown fans , although the dc24 uses a differant motor.

The one thing all these machines had in comon was a trully blocked filter. totally blocked.
if the filter is blocked the motor will over rev and the fan will destroy itself. You see this kind of stuff on the wet& dry vacuums all the time.

on the dc25 and 18 both customers had gone from owning a dc07 ( with one of the biggest dust containers ) so they filled up faster

Both dc24 customers had moved out from the UK from a tiny house into large double story houses here in Sa

People think that dyson vacuum cleaners dont clog and they won't if you follow the instructions but if you go past the max mark the heavier particals will get sucked into the cyclone and eventually they will start to clog the filter up  ( this does take time though)

The one dc24 came in with a bin so full that we had to pry it appart
