Has anybody taken a DC47 cyclone assembly apart? Is it possible?

Only just seen this and yes I only just did it yesterday, I would say it is easy.

My gosh though as I had bought this from ebay good job I did open it up as the top tier of cyclones all had crap in it. I had thought why was the pre-motor filter getting so much dust in it.

Great, but how did you manage to take the Dc47 cyclone it apart without breaking it? Can you elaborate?

The mesh at the front you take that off then there is some screws take that off then there are some more screws in there and it does then all come apart. I will try and get some pictures uploaded. Good job you are taking it off as when I did mine it was pretty bad, the top cyclones were clogged.

I would really appreciate it, I have two DC47 to service and I suspect (as you found) the cyclones are full of plaster dust!

Oh right and you it will be a big help, Dyson is right with more smaller more fine dirt goes into the bin but is prone to clogging then. I had mostly actual dirt which surprised me and it had then hardened over time which then made the cyclone a waste.

I will get some done again. If you look at the mesh part and use a flat head (or similar) you can take it off. Right under the top rubber seal and then you have the screws. Once you have that part out and from there on out its just screws I will say though you made need to get some water on it as mine was so stiff with all the dirt even with screws out that it did not work without water.

I have a problem to crack open Dyson DC47.I have seen Neton Grave's post put can't seem to open the unit.He mansions several screws on the filter side but I can only see 2≥I have taken of all screws that I can find but the egg want open.I wander if someone can help.The problem with this DC47 is that the cable want retract.Thanks
