We are not Dyson approved; we are independent. One reason why we are not interested in Dyson "approval" is because of the restrictions they impose on you. If we were Dyson approved, we wouldn't be allowed to sell the *superb* DC07 and DC14 back hoses that we sell (That we think are far better than theirs). Nor the after-market DC14 crevice tools we have.
There is an "approved" Dyson agent not far from us. He is so expensive that we even send him non-Dyson work to help keep him going
(if someone brings in a Hoover or a Vax for example that we don't really have time to mess with). His shop looks like the
Marie Celeste most of the time the poor bugger.
Yes, we do get them used, and of course we strip down broken ones for bits like that. However, the same stuff tends to break over and over again, so when we get a DC05 in for parts, chances are that the end collar on the extension tube is broken already.
The ones we do get tend to either get used up on machines we build or sold to people who wander into the shop asking for this stuff. People email us for stuff not listed on the site too; most stuff that is in short supply goes out that way.
I picked up a pile of machines to strip down yesterday actually. In a van full, there was one mega rare DC05 motorhead. The rest were uprights.
Here is a photo of inside the back of our van this evening; it will likely give you a chuckle.
Actually though, we don't do so many cylinders. I am sending some abroad this week as we don't sell so many of them and I have to take them if my guys bring them.
