Miele S6200 Cat & Dog - Pedal Spring
« on: March 16, 2018, 11:24:46 am »
The on/off pedal on my Miele S6220 Cat & Dog vacuum cleaner no longer works. I have removed it and the actual switch beneath still works. I ordered a replacement pedal, but it has made no difference, so I assume it is simply the spring that is knackered. Probably a stupid question, but any pointer as to where I can get a new one to fit? Many thanks!

Where we source from does not display small parts for that model.

Anyone here have a scrap one?

It could be the spring- try stretching the one you have.
It is more likely to need a new switch or the lever on top of the switch.
Sometimes you can pack it up with a bit a plastic.

Thanks, will try stretching the spring. Without the pedal in place, the switch works fine and the machine will stay switched on and then off again when it is pressed. When the pedal is added, it doesn't, which led me to think it may be the spring causing problems.

The lever on top of the switch can get broken or mis shapen. Also although the switch works well without the button on top, it can get worn or degraded & a new one can sort the problem.

The switch is very easy to replace, just remove the whole black switch housing and it pops out.
