How to Assemble Your Dyson Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Stand
« on: April 07, 2018, 12:29:28 pm »
If you have recently bought one of our cordless vacuum cleaner stands for your Dyson or other compatible vacuum cleaner, this topic is for you.

We realise that not everyone is practically inclined or familiar with assembling flat pack items, so this topic will assist you if that is you - but also please read if you are practically inclined as the instructions here are clearer than the paper ones in the box.

If you have bought from us on eBay or Amazon or as a Paypal user, we would request that you NOT start disputes and returns on those platforms due to simple problems such as a missing bolt, difficulty of assembly, etc. Please read this topic first (why this topic is linked from the outer packaging)

Having unpacked your stand, make sure you have all the items on the list.

Including all the specified bolts and fixings.

Although a small spanner is supplied, as with most flat pack inclusive tools it is of limited use. You will need a decent Philips screwdriver and we would recommend you also avail yourself of an 8mm spanner or socket to replace the included spanner.

Start by fixing the first section to the base with the two largest screws and their corresponding washers.

So you now have this. Make sure the captive nuts near the top of the two tubes that you haven't used yet are facing backwards and not forwards.

There are four little felt pads you can fit to the base so it doesn't scratch your floor.

The top section now slots into the bottom section like so.

And is secured by the two knurl screws here (don't fully tighten them yet as you haven't set your height).

Now you can begin to fit the small shelves and basket in the positions required.

When fitting the shelves and basket, you want the bolts so the nuts are at the back with a washer and the screw heads at the front. The small plastic covers are seen fitted here that can be fitted to conceal the screwheads.

Some people seem to struggle with the small optional screw covers as there is a knack to closing them.

If you damage them during fitting, and you particularly want to use them, they are the same as the ones used on car number plates, and you can get black replacements from any car spares or hardware shop for pennies.

Now its time to fit your docking station.

Please be aware that due to the different fixings on docking stations for different machines, the bolts to fix your docking station to the stand are not supplied. They are not missing - they are not supplied.

If your docking station only comes with wall plugs and screws, and doesn't come with bolts, you need two small multi-purpose nuts and bolts (similar to the ones used on the shelves and basket). We find most people have odd nuts and bolts in their toolbox if they are not supplied with your docking station, but if you need some, any hardware or car spares shop will have two for pennies.

Now you can attach your machine to your docking station.

Set the height to where it suits you and tighten the two knurl screws on the back of the stand to lock the height. Your charging cable clips into your docking station as usual and then clips down the side of the stand with the plastic clips supplied.

If you encounter problems or think something is missing, you are welcome to reply the topic here with a question, send us an email, call us on 0161 223 6814 (between 10-4 but not Sunday) or message us via the platform you bought through. But again, if an eBay, Paypal or Amazon user, please do not start returns or open "item not as described" cases as dispute resolution takes much longer to solve than answering a question, popping a couple of spare bolts or a part in the post or otherwise resolving a small issue might.

There is also a video Beko from the forum here has done on Youtube:
