Hi, My faithful DC 25 caught a nylon electric blanket tie in it's brush roller. I was a bit slow to see it, but eventually I powered the cleaner off. Normally if I clear the obstruction it will just carry on. Not this time. After checking all the switches etc, and confirming power is getting to the brush roller, I investigated the brush roller motor PCB. The 1 ohm resistor on the output of the bridge rectifier was open circuit. I ordered a replacement piece (1 ohm 4 watt) from Farnell. When I switched on, there was a popping noise, and the resistor was open circuit again. It would be fairly easy to replace all the components on the PCB, but I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem? Could it be the motor? Is there an easy way to check it? Thanks.
