The Henry (or is it an Henrietta?) and Vax Tub Machines
« on: November 13, 2010, 01:09:35 am »
We have a cleaner at work who swears by her Henry (or is it an Henrietta?). It has a smiling face painted on it anyway.  :sick0012:

It takes paper bags (my Dyson doesn't). You should wind the cable in by hand (Dyson cylinder vacuums you press a button and it just sucks it in). She spent about ten minutes telling me how great these Henry tub things are and how most cleaning companies use them?

She told me the Henry design is better than Dyson. To me it just looked like a squat tube thing that takes paper bags still (yes, in 2010). I don't see how they can be any better than a Dyson really. Anyone here have one? (Yes, I know the staff probably don't!)

Why is there a female "Henrietta" one? Is it smaller or something? Vax make one that is almost the same she said?

We Service a lot of them . They are pretty good machines that with care tend to last 10-15 years. The hotels love them

Office blocks love them too as they are so Quiet you can be on the phone with it right next to you.
They can take a beating and still last

They have there uses ,

ARE THEY BETTER THAN A DYSON ?
will thats like comparing a ford transet to a focus they are ment for differant purposes.

I use a henry in my workshop( we use it to clean out other machines ) hooked up to a dc07 cyclone , its like haveing a quiet dyson.

Interestingly The dyson Cyclone system is the only one that works properly. The other ones just clog the filter in minutes and are actually worce than bags. If you can't have a dyson I would have some thing with a bag in it. Other cyclone systems are just useless and cause motors to burn out prematurely

Thats is some thing that Dyson needs to work on the noise level.

I still use a dyson in my home though

VAX wishes they had something that could compare to a henry !!!!!

We have some brand new tub machines coming in stock this week. From what I have seen they look like a Henry, but have a better spec than a Henry, and they will be cheaper than a Henry.

Watch this space!

The pink Henry is called Hetty - I'm pretty sure you don't have to use bags if you don't want to. The reason people love them so much is they have a 9l capacity and also the smiley face  ;)

The henry vacuums can be used without the paper bags , in some markets a cloth bag is also available to add to the cloth filter.
Hotels and office blocks around the world love the henry for one reason only
ITS QUIET the face on it appeals to the ladys in the office and they buy one for home.

Untill Dyson does something about the noise levels it will never be loved by those in offices

New to the forum but anyway we have a few different kind of cleaning machines. I have a dyson (cause they rock) and I do have one of these Henry machines (my work bought one with a euro plug not uk) and they are ok. They are really powerful for the size of them. They are light and quiet which also helps
