Dyson DC25 Animal re-assembly question

I am re-assembling the motor housing and ball on my Dyson DC25 Animal. I forgot to note which way the large bearing is situated - do the inner 'teeth' face in towards the motor housing? Given the scoring on the motor housing I suspect this is the case but confirmation would be appreciated - thanks.

yes inner teeth towards the motor i think, on the inside of the big bearing there are small teeth which grip onto the motor bucket.
If you get it wrong way round the head doesn't drop correctly.
Please don't ask me how i know this....
