DC25 beater bar switch
« on: July 25, 2018, 10:13:09 am »
Hi from France,
Just fixed the beater bar on my DC25 by replacing the reset switch.
Working fine now except for one small thing - instead of defaulting to "off", the beater bar comes on every time the cleaner is reclined.
Not a big problem - actually better for carpets - but means it has to be switched off each time when working on smooth floors.
I guess something is not quite right with the little white plastic component and its tiny spring behind the grey switch.

Easy to fix? Or better to put up with it because it's not worth fiddling? Those buttons are quite difficult to click back into place.

That's normal   8)

Brushbar comes on when reclined and you have to switch it off for hard floors

Sounds as though you've put it back together just fine

Brilliant - made my day!

I'd clean forgotten the way round that it should be.

Really pleased I put the question here before pulling it all apart again. What a great forum.

After I changed a power switch quite a few years ago I had to switch the beater bar on and off separately - can't have got the spring and little white actuating thingy quite right that time.

Many thanks.
