Sam did a strip down, just select the section that applies.
https://manchestervacs.co.uk/DysonForum/index.php/topic,1060.0.html

Basically, lay vac down reclined. remove beater/head, dust bin, pipe and hose, ball assy, flexi hose on side. then onto side cover 3 torx to reveal one chromed torx. note, there is a plastic locating peg next to it - the peg is part of the motor bucket.

remove spade terminals on side remembering to have vac unplugged (yes i did it once), including the red to the microswitch and the thin white via a male & female spade.
You may want to pop a bit of masking tape over the microswitch mount to hold as there is a small scissor spring in there off top of my head
Take a photo of all the wires and locations first. motor feed is black n white and quite short.

remove the chromed torx and the other side torx that was behind the side flexi pipe.

pull motor bucket away from left side and upwards and fully remove. note orientation of big plastic bearing on rhs of bucket
The main swinging assy pulls away and this rhs plastic sleeve with the wires clipped in is where most people panic.
remove the torx on yoke wiring assy and replace with new, inserting wires into the rhs.
reassemble as quickly as possible, i.e don't think i will do it tomorrow as you will have forgot.

Don't panic and take pics at each stage.
It's one of the most common ones i get called out to, where customers son who is usually a (tech wizard) but can't get it back together.
They never learn, the son usually then moves onto fixing the home tv as he gets older, but thats a longer story  :'(
It can be awkward getting it all back together, the wires on rhs plate in particular and motor bucket location peg.

wise move , whilst it is stripped tighten the torx screw in the black upright support lever, as well as any other torx you cant normally get to when the motor bucket is in, a small lubricant wouldn't go a miss either.
The only way to fail is not to try.

Is the >>strip down topic<< already linked above and the instructions above not comprehensive enough?

Sizes vary slightly but should fit.

If the resistor has gone o/c, i assume the motor has also come to the end of it's life.
people do think the head had stopped working due to resistor failing, they replace it and it goes again due to motor not being replaced.
