Often asked, how to change the dc40 yoke cable, usually the cause of no beater function - but a faulty motor can also be the cause so check the output first with a voltmeter (set to dc) and look for 320v.

Snapped white cable on the yoke loom just spotted !

Getting the cover (marked with arrows) aligned to slide on is a bitch to do.

The rest is easy enough, refit filter, ball covers not forgetting the two washers.
The whole procedure isn't hard to do, just fiddly.
I finish with a floor test and finally an electrical safety test, with appropriate label on the plug with my name and phone number for the next time it fails !
