I have a Dyson v8 sv10 that works when the heads are not on it, once the heads are on the machine does nothing the light on the battery light up then go out it did make a bit of a burning smell before it did this

remove beater bar from head then try it, if it is jammed or seized then the hand unit will see it as a short circuit if it can't turn.

Unfortunately the brush bar is turning freely have 3 heads for it non of them work one has been barely used

difficult to answer this one, i could only find the cause if i had the unit in front of me.

You'll need to test the output from the machine with a meter and that the pole is conducting it. Could be a faulty machine or pole. Could be a faulty battery too not having enough juice to power the machine and the head.

Like Ryevac says, that one would need to be on the desk to be checked to diagnose.

Thank u The carpet head had a short on it and has blown the main motor head have replaced that and working prop now just need to sort out the carpet head now am using the hard floor one now
