Hi folks,
I'm new here and joined mainly to discuss an issue I have with an AM03 fan (have posted in the fans section about that).
Nonetheless, I do possess a yellow and grey DC04 which I have owned from new. I was "sold" on it at a large pet accessories exhibition 15 or so years ago because the live demo showed it picking up animal fur very well.
It does the job well, but what I really hate about it is the way dust and fur sticks electrostaticly to the inside of the transparent clear bin and requires washing with soapy water to remove it all. Who wants to do that after every use? So, eventually I went back to using a canister with bag.
As Dyson himself has said, he made the bin clear so that users can see the dirt within (more likely he wanted to show the "cyclonic" action). Frankly, had the bin been opaque, or had Dyson managed to somehow avoid the electrostatic charge, then I would probably be still using the DC04.
