All the ones i have seen in that colour have grey at the bottom section that the gasket fits on next to the pre filter housing.

thanks for your thoughts I know that its a very early dc07 and it did have a purple motor filter cover but it was broken

The chassis will have broken at the join and someones glued it probably. Seen a few like that.
