Any Interest in a Forum Competition?
« on: June 24, 2011, 07:05:30 pm »
Since we added the forum feature to our site, it has attracted over two hundred members in quite a short space of time. We also get a LOT of readers that don't make accounts. However, we would like to have the forums become a little more active and build a friendly online community here. I'd like to get a few more of you folks posting here.  :icon_nod:

So with that in mind, I thought a good way to increase forum activity and participation was to have a small competition of some kind. Perhaps something like "identify this part" (which might be too easy for some of you) or even "guess the year of our van".

Another idea might be a posting competition: Whoever makes the most topics and/or posts in a given period of time (proper posts, not stuff like "yeah, me too, lol"). Something like that.......

As a prize, we might arrange something like a £10 ($15) a discount on a parts order. Or send you a free part up to a given value for example.

What I am looking for here is ideas and suggestions from those here. If you are member, just hit "reply" and tell me what you think or make a better suggestion. If you are a reading guest, come on in and engage with us here. Just click the "register" button to join in the chat.

Any ideas welcome.

Well, despite heavy readership, I think the cat got your tongues.  :-X

Think the van one is a good idea, or take a picture of a vacuum but say only show a tiny bit of the actual cleaner and we could guess model and variant.. :)

I was in a photo studio the other day with some machines and parts. While we were waiting for something to arrive, the photographer did a few abstract shots of machines from various angles. He was testing the light really, but I said we'd keep them in case they were of use sometime.

Here is one:

It is probably too easy, but what model of machine is it?
