Hi All

Started playing with Dysons sometime back because 1) They are generally really good 2)They are far too expensive for a mere mortal like me 3:) I/We love buying them cheap at car boots  4) I /we love taking things apart  5) love the end result when you bring one back from the dead to a near as new condition

I used to do most of this by myself, but we had a friend who was severely paralysed by a car accident and my wife used to help him rebuild things ( like Dysons ) that he couldn't because of his disability so now we are a husband and wife team  and I tend to do all the electrical side as that is my line of work. I wonder if there are any more out there like us.. ....  Oh it was a link from someones reply on here ....well you asked......

Welcome Spike.  :tiphat:

I think there are many who do the same. Some of the parts orders we get are mixed bits for half a dozen different machines.

Whenever I go on a car boot sale, there is always some bloke that runs past me clutching an old Dyson in each hand.  :chuckle:

Although, some of the machines I see on car boot sales that are allegedly 'refurbished' are truly shocking cobbled together crap.

NO, myDC25 is making a loud howeling sound. I have checked the vacum lines and they are clear. Any suggestions?

Can you tell if it is the motor or the brush bar motor the noise is coming from?

Have you tried removing the cyclone/bin assembly and switching it on?
Just incase it is some thing blocking the cyclone, but the worst case is it is the motor that is on it's way out.

Thanks
I just tried it with out the cyclone/bin and the noise was the same. So how big of a job is it to change the motor?
