360 eye just goes round in circles
« on: November 11, 2018, 01:12:12 pm »
Hi.  Our son brought his 360 eye robotic to see if we could work out why it just goes round in circles.  The wheel track seems to jam but stripping it down seems to be pretty much impossible too :(

They are not that old, it is likely still under warranty?

Dyson warranties are transferable.

I'm told that it's out of warranty as Dyson replaced the original unit due to a faulty catch in the battery compartment

That wouldn't cancel the warranty. If its within 2 years or whatever the warranty is on those, they should fix it.

Generally though, when any robotic vac goes around in circles, it is often a sticking or dirty sensor on the bumper. Usually stripping the front bumper off and cleaning up were the sensor is is the place to start.

Id be asking Dyson to confirm the date the warranty started and expired first, though.

Thank you for the info I'll ask him to check that the warranty is out of time.  We've cleaned up the sensors but no luck so far.

The problem with fixing these at the moment is as relatively few are sold, and they haven't been out so long, nobody has much experience with stripping them down yet. Added to which, Dyson haven't made much in the way of spares available for them either. Why I am trying to guide you into getting them to fix it if possible.
