The belt guard lifts out now

Rear wheels out

Belt off

Turbine bearings out

And with the retaining pin tapped through, the turbine splits apart, revealing years of packed in rubbish between the turbine halves

Latch removed

Both tools stripped and ready for washing

All washed and covered in trim gel to make them look less worn!

Turbine goes back together

And with the turbing inside the main housing, the locking pin/belt drive pin gets pushed through, and the end bearings fitted after a good schoosh of oil!

Brushroll and belt fitted

ila_rendered

Turbine cover and main cover fitted

Then the baseplate and wheels

Done!

Parquet head next, and the brushes were clipped back into their holder

ila_rendered

ila_rendered

The wheels refitted

ila_rendered

And the top cover clipped on

ila_rendered

Moar waxing and buffing happened

And it was done, over a year since I first picked it up!

And with that, the whole ensemble is done!

We did an after video, of course, but also gave it back to it's owner!

2200w - a big un! More than twice what they are now due to daft EU rules.

Yep, highly illegal now, I feel like such a criminal!

And tbh, as great as they are, as in on full power you need the turbohead as it glues itself to the floor, the 1600w ones aren't too bad, I've not used anything smaller though

You could get one in for display, Miele and Sebo are equals in the good vacuum cleaner stakes!

Love those mieles, got another cat and dog coming soon. My last S5260 sold for £155 on eBay auction though it was complete and good condition, even the pedals weren’t worn!

I'm mightily tempted to sell my S5510 with the electric powerhead and lots of the tools next year, should fetch a healthy amount, although my pedals are pretty trashed sadly.

Fun fact, the refurb thread on your yellow one is next on my list

Well I would be interested in that Miele!

If you lever those pedals from the back they never snap usually!

Hello there, it's my first time using this forum, but I have the same vacuum as in your strip down. I am desperate to put the spring/wire back in the tool door catch. You have done this in your photos, please could you share with me how to do it? Miele quoted a ridiculous amount to fix the catch. Plus any tips on the motor making a higher pitched sound even with clean/new filters. Hope you can help thank you...
