My Sebo X1 is running the up motor constantly. This results in it going up and then down so eventually it lays flat on the carpet and trips as its too low. If it is placed on a hard floor the up is contant and the height goes up/down/up/down. never stops.
I have stripped down and cleaned the sensor on the belt sensor unit from dust but no diffferent.

Looking for any diagnostic ideas before buying spare parts, (belt sensor unit, main pcb).

Posted this as the search feature does not work, so there may be a similar post somewhere.

Thanks
Peter

Posted this as the search feature does not work,

Thanks for that, we have been updating the software and I guess it broke. I'll get on that..........

As to your Sebo problem, it can be either one of the things you have mentioned, but there is something you can look for first.

Take out the small side PCB, look carefully on it to see if you can find a very small circular magnet stuck to it or lodged there somewhere. If you find it, that's the cause of the issue and then I'll tell you where it goes.

Thank you for replyng. I have looked at the side pcb (power supply for logic and relay to shutdown the motor) no magnet. Both magnets are in place on the belt sensor that I assume are picked up by the hall effect switch that measures the resistance on the brush/roller as the drag twists them round/further apart.
I could see if the sensor is giving any pulses. Is there an easy test or do I need to use a scope?

Appreciate any other suggestions.

There are not only the two magnets, there is another on the swivelling arm that is read by a sensor on the side PCB.

If all three are in place, our chap seems to think the servo motor is the most likely culprit.

However, a PCB is the next possible thing and its hard to be certain which it is. Its impossible for us to diagnose with certainty at a distance in this case.

All magnets in place and when the handle is up it sometimes sorts itself out by raising to the highest postion, stops the height motor, then after a few seconds it goes into the fail mode, stops the brush/vac motor and brush light flashes.

If I leave it in free air handle down it just runs up and down with the up light on all of the time.

One question on the Belt Sensor Unit. Is it spring loaded both directions. Mine appears to be quite free by about 1/2 a turn then if the brush is loaded it will only move 1/8 of a turn max against the spring. if two springs perhaps one of the springs broken?
