DC40 swivel lock arm replacement how to fix?
« on: January 24, 2019, 07:32:41 pm »
Hi all

First time poster

When using my DC40 at the weekend I heard a snap

And to my horror noticed that the arm that allows the dyson to move easily was broken. The dyson still works of course but it doesn’t move as freely as it once did and when you push or pull to the right it comes off the ground.

I found the explosed diagram and discovered that the part I needed was the  swivel lock arm. So I purchased a spare

However this is where I am out of luck. I can’t seem to find a tutorial or video on how to repair/ replace the part

Any one able to help?

Thanks

Have a trawl through Beko's strip down topic, you'll find it there I expect.

You'll want to look somewhere around layer 2, have the ball shells off and assess! And let us know!

Hmm this sounds complicated

Maybe I should see if there are any local repairers in Wiltshire

Perhaps so, it's not an amateur job really. If you are not experienced with similar repairs I'd farm it out.

I think Dyson still keep a small satellite office in Wiltshire don't they? They might help, you need to be quick though, I hear they're moving!
