Ages ago, Summer 2018 to be precise, I went to the car boot.

I found an awful vacuum cleaner



About 20 minutes later, another equally awful vacuum cleaner joined it!



And it transpires I bought 2 generations of the same machine!



The filter on one was utter scrap



One of the hoses went off to live somewhere else

Leaving me with one!

So, formalities over with, let's strip it down!



Hose off

It's not even the just as shit one with a dusting brush built in, so a 2 in 1 tool!



Hose end off now





Let's see if the wands come apart



One end cap off



2 end caps off



The 2 halves then fall off



revealing a red bit



Which I think does the locking into place

MANY big clips later



Only light damage occured



The front hard floor brushes lift out, and the brush strip slides out



The rear wheels, however broke when I tried to remove them, the very thin plastic bar snapped... Will come to that later... At least the air path was nice and clean though

The pedal snaps out of the bottom part



And it's done! Onto the main machine

And removed very easily



The thick sponge diffuser lifts off



The front hand grip is screwed in as well





It was filthy inside



I removed the post motor filter

It was quite clean, but then was washed before I started using it



Time for the fantastic* dust box



Top cover off



Rubber seal out



Handle



Little sticker



Lid seal removed



Sadly this is all bonded together so I can go no further



Pre motor filter, this was washed too not long before this picture was taken!

It wasn't bonded together! There were 4 clips and the bottom came off





Into the machine itself now



Pre motor filter was clean





Bag chamber seal off



Rear is unscrewed and removed



Buttons removed



Lens for the bag full indicator which I could never get to work removed

Post filter seal out



And we can take the motor cover off!



There's a PCB





Which sits on this cover that goes over the cord reel



Which itself just lifts out



And can sit out of the way



Little air tube for the crap bag full light. Sorry, bin full. Or more likely just clogged because you've done 3 rooms...



Then the motor lifts out

The fan chamber seal falls out



And we can pull the motor out of the case, and disconnect the wires



Pull the loom through the motor casing



The spotless* 'sound deadening'

Comm was good, and it ran really well anyway



More filthy foam



Some lovely reassuring gravel in the bottom of the motor housing there...

Wheels pop off



Front one levers off



And comes apart





Should have put this at the top of this thread really!



Then onto the shit turbo brush which is the ONLY thing that makes it a higher model than HooverLux's Green one!



Open it up



And unclip the front 2 edges from the other side



Pop the baseplate and brushroll out

Turbine and belt out

We can strip the turbine now. End caps and nylon washer out



Then pull them apart



Then, on this one the tool port comes apart as well!



Done! Everything was washed, dried and polished.



And I fitted the front wheels first

Back wheels on



No more gravel!



The now flexible foam goes in one side



And then the other



The motor loom got passed back through and plugged in, and the motor fitted to the case, and the case fitted to the machine



The PCB will be annoying whilst you refit the cord reel



But soon you can fit its holder



And fit the cover



Clip the lens back in

Post motor filter cover back on (the filter wasn't dry here...)



Onto the bin now! The mark of the assembly still present in the foam despite a good scrub!



Everything came up well. The airflow didnt last long enough for the grit to sandblast the thing cloudy!



Clipped it onto the base



This is as good as the pre filter will get, and it's good enough!



In it goes

Bits put back on the lid



Lid put back on the bin, bin fitted to the vacuum

Re-washed post filter



and fitted



This took AGES to polish!



Handle back on



Diffuser back on



Lid fitted to the vacuum



Vacuum done!





Onto the floor tool now! The pedal-bone connects to the lower chassis-bone

Much cleaner now!





Pivot point/tool bit-bone connected to the lower chassis-bone



Annoyingly, that stupid little plastic rod that broke earlier was integral to the floor tool assembly... So I got the qbond out, floor tool works perfectly well without its rear wheels



Brushes refitted



Brush assembly fitted to the lower chassis



Snap the top cover on



And no-one would ever know



Locking ring fitted to the tool bit for the turbo tool now

And it, the belt and the brushroll can be fitted to the chassis



Baseplate fitted



Top cover fitted



All the tools were done!



Wand now! Red locking tab fitted



The bit that makes the adjuster spring fits to the other side of that



2 outer covers on, end rings on and job done! Clip the hose end to the hose



And we are done!
