dc 50 head worked and now it doesnt
« on: February 04, 2019, 07:19:06 PM »
hi i refurb the older type of dysons usually ( 07 , 14 33s) but my mate gave me a dc50 from a skoda dealership where he works  ,all it needed was a new hose and he told me to buy 2 new filters , i plugged it in at work and the brush bar was working fine.
i gave him a price and all was ok until i got it home and i tried a head off another dyson that didnt work so i put the original working head back on as i knew it was ok , and would you believe it now doesnt work , i hate working on ball dysons but now im stuck and need advise please.
any ideas why it wont work after swapping heads around , all i wanted to know is if my other head worked in my garage that i had kicking about ::)

I'd suggest the faulty head you fitted perhaps blew the PCB and now your working head isnt being powered.

Its multimeter time. First check your DC output from the machine........

hi mvacs , ive taken the head off and tested the terminals with the machine on and the rear wheels reclined as though the head was on , its reading around 300 volts dc , but even if i switch the brush button this stays around 300 v dc , if i turn the power button off the volts drop .
