DC05 parts interchangeable - even with PANASONIC Motor model
« on: February 05, 2019, 08:41:02 pm »
Hey all,

So I've been reading on the rather useful guide that on some DC05's there was a Panasonic motor fitted and therefore the motor and the motor housing on those models are different.

What I'm struggling to find whether the other parts (in particular the bottom housing) on a Panasonic model are the same as on the other model?

The background is that my mum's DC05 has seen better days, particularly the bottom housing where the wheels push into, so I picked up a cheap donor DC05 locally and went to take it to pieces and found that it was the rare Panasonic model!

Thanks in advance for any replies!

The main motor housing looks the same but differs. Different rubbers inside it too. Everything else is interchangeable (assuming not a Motorhead).

We do have a very good used Panasonic DC05 motor though in case of need, get in touch if interested.

Thanks for the reply.

I've managed to test the Panasonic motor (and motor housing) in the main body of the other DC05 and it all seemed to work fine :-) I can see quite a few cuts on the outer sheaf wiring that was on the Panasonic DC05, so I'm guessing that the wiring has been compromised somewhere.

You say that you have a 'good' Panasonic motor for sale. Is there a way to actually to test whether a motor has plenty of life in it or is on it's last legs?

Our blokes can tell by visual and meter test.
