I have had a couple of enquiries recently about a Dyson belt/brushbar removal tool. So I decided to do some sniffing about. Here is what they look like:

I can only find one site that lists them in the UK, and they charge £20 for them. It seems we can source them overseas without difficulty. I have ordered one already to have a look at. I was thinking of making a deal with them on a trade job lot, and after shipping, import duty  :sick0012: and other stuff, they will still come out at somewhat less than £20 including delivery I am sure.

What I want to know is, is anyone interested in these over here? Or are you not bothered about struggling with the belts?

Did you have the Dyson one or an after-market foreign one? I gather Dyson do them, but the part number seems not to be on the system any more.

To be totally honest I am not sure. a customer gave me one that he had when he traded his dc07 up to a dc25.

the fact that it broke so easily makes me think it was aftermarket

We'll probably use the first one for a week or two to make sure they are of a decent quality before we start to sell them. We'll likely give it heavier use than most customers will.

Our prototype arrived today. Looks well-made and strong. Our tech will test it this coming week.

We have been using it a week or more in a heavy-duty trade application with no problems. Our tech says they are great. We are happy to offer this tool to the public for use on DC04's, DC07's and DC14's.

We took delivery of our first bulk box today. They are now available on our site on the DC04 parts page, the DC07 parts page and DC14 parts page. They cost £16.99 with UK delivery.

We will be checking them on the DC01, DC03, DC27 and DC33 to see if they are compatible with those models. We will also be doing a quick tutorial on how to use one. Watch this space....
