track marks
« on: April 20, 2019, 12:01:05 pm »
Ok so as far as i can tell this issue has been ha[pening to many customers all over the world given the google links.

i purcased our 41 in 2012 and straight away noticed not only didnt it leave being track marks but it took 4 times as long as it should do when dealing with a patch of area.

about a month before the 5 year time period we have a service guy from dyson come and you could tell that they have been trained to literally argue everything and defend the product an also not admit that the machine itself wasnt an issue or fault as a whole. and i said this because the guy literally replaced every part of the dc41 where he could have saved time and just replaced the whole thing.

even during each stage of replacement during his visit every time he was coming up with an excuse as to why it wasnt doing the job like its advertised, i would easily counter that  , ie he would ay well this carpet is over 10 years old and is short haired so harder to eal with. so i told him of the issues in my room with a carpet barely a year old and it was reacting the exact same way ie not doing a easy or good job of picking up the dog hairs that it was designed to do, he then flipped the reason and said yes Well its not going to be perfect. i said perfect? i dont expect to have to go over the same area in multiple directions to deal with the tracks it itself is leaving behind.

then near the end after replacing all the parts he did a test on his own carpet, and it STILL couldnt pick up even his own dust and hairs etc that he put down and even then he was coming up with the most stupid reasons and simply said again that its working as it should.

so my question is. is there a known design fault of this and other models after it thats not only causing it to leave track marks ie not cleaning the area like it should, but also not sucking up the basic dust etc

Well, all i can say is that I've got Ball Animal 2, bought in January and already had an appointment with Dyson guy, replaced whole cyclone and bin. He didn't argue, ordered a part without me even saying anything. Although he said that my cleaner has HEPA filter, which is not true.
My boyfriend's sister and mother also have Dysons.
Sister has got DC014 and it's still working strong, as she was telling us, customer service was always great. They were even polishing it for her.
His mother's got DC025. I must say that it doesn't seem to be very powerful, but maybe it's because I'm comparing it to mine which can really suck deep into carpet. Anyway, when it was still in warranty she was really satisfied with customer service as well.

Nowadays they release the products and then try and iron out any design flaws as they go along.

The DC41 was the first in the new generation of Dyson balls. There was nothing especially memorable or wonderful about the DC41. Later models of modern Dyson’s are slightly better performance wise.

I'd rather own a DC41 to a DC33  :grinn: Seriously though they're more powerful, more sturdy, better looking, more better  engineered and everything

The Dc33 is like a Vax version of the DC14 to me :/ even the hose on the DC33 is ridiculously short and the wand and body flex more than the DC41

Nope, the DC41 mk2 onwards is really reliable, they don't fall apart at all, DC33 spines always have cracks in them just behind the cyclone handle meeting point :/

My experience with Dysons machine is They arent up to much at all especially anything after DC14,

The bins will only just hold the contents the size of a multipack single crisp bag,

The crap goes everywhere when you empty them, you have to beat the vortex to death to get all the crap out.

They block in the blink of an eye and are so plasticky and cheaply made.

Im a bag machine lover you dont get covered in crap much more hygenic to use and im a firm Sebo fan.

Seriously though, the cleanerhead design on the DC41 is absolutely remarkable in my eyes along with the ball design if you look into them in detail.
